Bachelor's degree in eSports will be opened
A presidential decree “On additional measures for the further development and wide promotion of e-sports” was adopted.
According to the resolution, one of the main directions for the development of e-sports is the organization of republican and international e-sports championships and tournaments, as well as worthy participation in prestigious international and regional competitions.
Since 2023, traditionally in eSports:
- Republican championship "Uzbekistan Esports Championship" in April of each year;
- annual December tournament “Cup of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
- The Youth Cup tournament is held annually in June.
By the decision taken, an interdepartmental council was created for the further development and promotion of e-sports.
Also, a program of measures for the further development and popularization of e-sports was approved, which provides for the phased elimination of the “ping” problem in e-sports.
From the 2023/2024 academic year, the undergraduate course "Sports activities: cybersport" will be opened at the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, the training period for this course will be 3 years.
Cybersportsmen who took (1st place) in the republican championship "Uzbekistan Cybersport Championship" last year are exempted from taking professional (creative) exams for this bachelor's degree from the 2023/2024 academic year, assigning them maximum points. awarded.
