“Yoga Day”
On June 14, 2021, mass yoga classes were held at the Namangan Engineering-Construction Institute on the eve of International Yoga Day. Dozens of young people gathered in the institute's sport hall, showing interest in yoga. They were greeted by the rector of NamECI Sh. Ergashev and the director of the Cultural Center at the Embassy of India, Chander Shekhar.
According to the speech of Mr. Shekhar, the Yoga Federation was established in Uzbekistan in 2020 at the initiative of the head of state. Now more than 1,000 people are attending yoga courses organized at the Indian Cultural Center in Tashkent. They are trained by trainers from India and their local students.

“On the eve of the International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21, we held such mass yoga classes in all regions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. I am grateful to the leadership of the institute for their help in holding the event in Namangan at a high level,” says Chander Shekhar.
