Proposals on the vocational training system were considered in the presence of the President

On October 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of new initiatives on improving the quality of professional education and vocational training of the population.

Professional education plays a special role in economic development. In particular, up to 75% of students in developed countries are covered by vocational education.

This field is also being developed in our country based on the requirements of the labor market. Middle-level specialists are trained mainly in two directions - vocational schools and technical schools of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and monocenters under the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment.

Today, 714 professions and specialties are taught in 689 professional educational institutions and 54 professions and 6 foreign languages are taught in 20 "Ishga Merhamat" monocenters.

A form of "dual education" was introduced, which allows students to study and earn income at the same time. As a result of this system, 6,000 young men and women are being trained together with 2,000 enterprises. Also, young people are taught various specialties in a vocational school after the 9th grade, and in a college and technical school after the 11th grade.

At the same time, there are certain gaps in the field. Some educational programs are not related to the needs of life. Professional education is not able to attract schoolchildren. As a result, the available capacities are not fully utilized.

Monocenters cannot fully satisfy the need for middle-level personnel. Graduates are taking an additional exam because they have not been given a qualification. There is no cooperation between the Foreign Labor Migration Agency and professional education. There is not enough work on teaching foreign languages and issuing confirmation documents.

In order to eliminate these shortcomings and improve the quality of vocational training, new proposals have been developed by the relevant ministries. In the presentation, the officials gave detailed information in this regard.

These proposals envisage measures to introduce foreign educational programs, ensure the recognition of graduates' qualifications in the domestic and foreign markets, attract more students to colleges and technical schools, and improve the quality of vocational training in monocenters.

The head of state gave additional tasks to improve these proposals. It was emphasized that the employment of the population is the most important issue, and young people should be taught professions based on the specialization of districts and the needs of enterprises in specific directions.

It was said that it is important to gradually update the classifications of professions and professional education, align them with international standards, and connect professional educational institutions with schools and universities. It was determined that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation will coordinate all vocational education institutions as a single system.

From the next academic year, vocational training will be launched in each region based on the world-recognized program. Their graduates will have an international qualification and a foreign language certificate. Also, criteria for ensuring the quality of advanced vocational education and vocational training are applied.

In monocenters, professions are trained based on the order of employers, which is an important factor in the employment of graduates.

Officials were assigned the task of developing an annual program for the development of the professional education system.
